About Love,Zola

Who is Zola?

Zola Taylor was my dear Grammy. She was the sweetest, most selfless person I knew. She was the Grammy that children dream about. Fresh cookies, warm hugs, and an open door greeted us when we would come visit. I was lucky enough to live close by so I got to have her a lot in my life.

Grammy was known in her community to be the mother and child helper. She was eager to help a new mother rest by taking the crying baby. She often delivered fresh baked cookies and bread to those in need around her. She even helped a woman in labor deliver in the back seat of her car on the way to the hospital. She truly was a Christlike woman.

Grammy taught me the basics on how to sew when I was about 8 years old. I remember we made an apron and I cherished that time together. While I may only remember some of what she taught me, I will always remember that time spent together.

Grammy passed after battling Alzheimers when I was in college. She never got to see me get married or have babies, however, I have always felt her presence near. With every pregnancy I have had, she was in my dreams so clearly, giving me strength and comfort.

So, as a tribute to her, I make everything from the heart, just as she did.
